PHIL COLLINS: In Service To His King

Phil Collins made a rare somewhat public appearance last Thursday when he attended a ceremony at Buckingham Palace in London in celebration of the 50th anniversary of The King's Trust, formerly The Prince's Trust.

A longtime supporter of the charity, he was joined by his second of three ex-wives, Jill Tavelman, as they have donated items to The King’s Trust 50th Anniversary Auction Featuring The Phil Collins Archive on November 19th in London, five days after he's inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for his solo work. He was inducted as a member of Genesis in 2010.

While at the Palace, Collins met up with Rod Stewart and his wife Penny, which Jill posted about saying, "Phil and I were very proud and honored to be there and have a few private moments with King Charles who seemed genuinely pleased to see Phil who was the very first ambassador 40 years ago and a trustee even before that! We ran into Rod and Penny among other old (in the nicest sense of the word) friends."

A few nights before the event at the Palace, Stewart and his old friend and Faces bandmate Ronnie Wood performed at the Trust's 50th anniversary celebration at the Royal Albert Hall.

Woody has posted behind-the-scenes photos and rehearsal footage from the event on Instagram. He was also at last Thursday's event at the Palace and afterward he and his wife had dinner with Rod and Penny.
