The Olympics were HOW MUCH???

Well, that's a wrap on the Paris Olympics! My friends at Wallethub.com have done all the work and laid out the Paris Olympics by the Numbers!

For Example:

  • 100 years since the last Paris Olympics! The 3rd time the city has hosted (1900 and 1924).
  • 10,500 Athletes from 206 countries competed.
  • The medals are made from 18 grams of iron from the Eiffel Tower!
  • 1 sport is made its debut, break dancing.
  • 39 different venues were used to host the games, most of which will be repurposed after the conclusion.
  • The estimated cost of host the games...more than $8.2 Billion!
  • NBC loves the games and spent $7.65 billion to renew its rights to the games through 2032.
  • $1.2 billion is how much NBC has already made from domestic ad sales.
  • Top cost of a ticket to the Opening Ceremony - $2,700 per ticket.
  • Hotels costs in Paris increased by 200%
